I love the Mallrats quote about the Clippers!

My hot take on replays is they should be limited to like 45 seconds. If that's not enough time to be sure about overturning it, then you move on. Keep things moving.

The refs, especially at the end of tight games, are getting worse. Players yapping all game long does not help, but rampant ejections are not the best solution. For the first three periods players who challenge the refs for more than three to five seconds get three to five minutes on the bench. In the fourth quarter, any bench suspended time aggregates to one tech, with the second tech resulting in ejection. It's a start to balancing Shut Up and Play with The License to Bitch. Players cannot get thrown out early but if they abuse TLtB it costs them playing time. Fans get to see at least ¾ of a player. Coaches will have to make tactical substitutions. Referees judgment is legislated but not unlimited.

NBA refs are most-certainly terrible, and we can discuss whether some of the ejections highlighted here were, perhaps, unwarranted.

But when you have players like Jokic, Doncic, or Chris Paul, none of whom *ever* stop yapping at the refs, even over the tiniest of perceived slights? Run 'em.

Whether it's the refs' fault, or the league's for leaning on the refs to take shit from stars for forty-eight minutes, there are no small number of players who feel as though they have a league-issued License To Bitch. Here is how refs should be told to deal with players:

1) "Shut up and play."

2) "Once more and you're gone."

3) Fuck you, you're done, goodbye."

I do like some of your proposed changes, because after all, the main thing is to have the game be fair, and the current crop of zebras is sub-par at best. On the other hand, I don't think that the ejections and the missed calls stem from the same source. Many superstars have entirely earned their reputations as spewers of an endless litany of "I was fouled!/I've never fouled anyone!"

If Harrison Barnes goes to a referee about a call, it's entirely likely that he has a point. I'll bet he goes months on end without ever making a comment to an official. Luka on the other hand? The man is an incredible basketball player, and he's exactly no fun to watch because he never stops crying.

Let him go cry in the locker room.

I’d like to see the replay go away, it’s too big of a waste of time for what we’re getting back.

I notice both of Jokic’s ejections were near the end of the first half. Maybe he hit his 20-minute eligibility req and had the ref rest him?

Agreed that there are too many generic type-only jerseys, but man I would never wear that billionaire yacht club jersey. Even Clippy would’ve been better.
