It's hard to believe that local blackouts are still a thing, but it speaks to the greed of team owners, which actually makes it pretty easy to believe.
Therefore, please feel free to disregard this entirely.
The NBA League Pass add-on to YouTube TV is probably worth a mention, at $14.99 a month, and it means I don't have to mess with the NBA app on my Apple TV. As someone who spent formative years in LA, a bunch of adulthood in Sacramento, and now lives in Utah (but doesn't care about the Jazz), this basically gives me everything I need.
Agree w/the above. The NBA app is ok, I guess but trying to cast/airplay from the app to a TV is more miss than hit. And you can cancel the monthly plan just before the playoffs.
The Nuggets recently partnered with 9NEWS (I believe NBC affiliate) to finally broadcast I think 20 games over the air as well. So, between national games and local games you may not need to spend all that on Altitude+ if you don't care about watching all 82 Nuggets games.
Sling Blue + Orange is $55. it was mentioned in the article you would have to stack blue and orange together for 90+... i use sling and have blue+orange... i also have free league pass until feb 2025 b/c of some crazy jayson tatum sneaker vote promotion lol... look it up... thought it was too good to be true. ***edit*** i did see the original post updated the language and i agree... it is confusing, but i've had no issues with sling
I am a YouTube TV + League Pass + VPN to watch my local team since Bally Sports is an annoying channel to get and 19 bucks/month for the app feels like too much.
So I've used Sling with the added NBA League Pass option the last four years and it DOES have NBA Tv in this package. They can make it tricky to sign up at first, sometimes, but if you purchase League Pass inside of Sling, you can then also log in with your Sling account to the NBA.com website and watch all the games there as well using that League Pass access. I think it might be the cheapest option for an out of market fan who doesn't need the local team (Spurs fan here living in Ohio).
For recording over the air broadcast to a DVR, I’ve heard great things about Channels App (free and runs on basically every OS) and the HDHomeRun box ($100 or so on Amazon)
Thank you for your service, this is much needed. I get more angry every year the more complicated everything gets to access.

Yes! I like LP on YouTube TV. Keeps everything in one place. The NBA app is so buggy.

I wouldn’t say people with OTA options NEED a DVR. They only need that if they want to record a game. Otherwise, just the antenna will suffice
