I am a huge fan of yours but no. Giannis’ game is sooo dependent on being allowed to charge and travel and in general out muscle everyone. He’s a wonderful player but so much of his success is because he is the darling of the league. So many FTA. So many allowances made for his defects. If not for the Nets’ injuries in 21 we’d be having the “but can you win a ring with his limitations?” conversation as he turns 30. I’m over it (and also totally biased - Go Celts).

This is good sauce. I love Giannis and find him generally under appreciated, but I think this skyscraper ode will fit Wemby much more comfortably in a year or two (god willing).

Meant to drop this in a comment last week and I just now remembered: it's Moe Wagner, not Mo Wagner. Read this in a Defector piece: https://defector.com/its-moe-wagner-not-mo-wagner

Can’t agree. Joker has highest PER of all time!.

Team + 26 with him on floor - 12 without

All time record.

I have Giannas tied for second. Spectacular player Both easily among all time greats

Who would do better; Milwaukee without Giannis or Denver without Jokic?

Denver would be one of worst teams in league without Jokic

In that case, let's give KD some MVP consideration. It's wild that the Suns are 13-2 with him, 1-9 without.

Amazing block, no question. But I have a question.

Since Capela was at the point in his motion where the ball was going downward into the hoop, why isn't that a goaltend? I do understand that the ball was in his hands, which makes it a block, but had he taken his hands off the ball just before Giannis touched it, would *that* be goaltending?

I'll bet there's not a ref in the league with the balls to call it, even if it ever occurred to one what had just happened.

A million years ago (possibly Heatles era), I decided to check out not averages or highs but the 10th percentile games for players across the league. Who would you want on their worst night. Lebron dominated everything from what I remember: points, boards, assists, shooting percentages, per game, per 36, everything. Maybe Giannis has taken that throne today (though Jokic doesn't seem to have many off nights either).

PS

I also remember Carmelo having terrible 10th percentile stats, which I loved as a Celtics fan.
