I obviously love the prediction of the Suns winning the chip, but have serious concerns about our ability to match up against elite/All-Star big men on the road there. Jokic, Embiid, AD, Bam - I'm not confident in our ability to keep them from feasting against us.
For the record, I would have these concerns even if we had kept Ayton (when he cared, he was excellent, but he didn't care often enough). Without him, they're amplified.
My favorite team has a ton of talent, a great coach, and sharp front office, and yet I am green with envy about the Spurs current situation.
I just don't know what the hell anyone is going to do about VW. If you play him physical down low to force him away from the paint, he just eats you up with threes and midrange shots. He can block your shot from three towns over.
With no disrespect meant, he made Wiggins look silly, and Drew is a very good defender, and long & athletic, to boot. He couldn't do a damned thing with Vic.
We are entering a golden age of highlights, and I mean the kind that we've never seen before. What a time to be alive.
My one irrational, eye test, emotion over logic prediction that proves I should never go to Vegas: the Cavs will finish ahead of Milwaukee by one game. Voodoo analytics...the Bucks will catch every teams best efforts; as an older team they will pick their spots; the bench will need reps; and a new, first time coach. The Cavs are good enough to stack wins against lower teams while competing against teams ahead of them; excellent defense; and needing to atone for playoff disappointment. The new players have playoff experience, skillsets that fill needs, and winning mentalities.
I like a lot of these! The Poole one especially — my buddy and I have a "dumb predictions" podcast coming out tomorrow and among them are the Nuggets not even reaching the WCF (largely due to Nikola Jokic wanting more time back home not playing basketball games) and Jordan Poole leading the league in scoring because he'll have the greenest of lights on a bad team. Cheers to the new season!
Man, I wish ABC/ESPN finds some way to have Iggy sub in for Doc at a few different times during the year. I’m sure he’ll be in the studio at some point, but would love to hear him in the booth.
I’m optimistic about the Doris/Doc combo, but as someone who watched the last three years of his pressers the big concern should be if his voice is shot. Maybe I was just annoyed with the guy as a Sixers fan but he was rough to listen to last season.
Tatum MVP. East goes Celtics Bucks Heat 76ers. Celtics over 76ers in the conference semis (or Cavs if they're able to sneak through), Bucks over Heat, then Celtics over Bucks in the east finals.

Doc Rivers will be the first coach fired this season. I will not hear about it because I will have the audio turned off.
Rockets make the playoffs. The young guys have a few years of experience now, and Ime's gonna whip them into shape.
Bucks v Celtics ECF. (Bucks
Suns v Lakers WCF.
(Suns beat nugs in 7 in WCSF, Lakers beat Warriors in 6)
Lakers v Bucks - Lakers chip. Davis finals MVP.

Ostensibly.
Ja is traded to the Heat

Love to see the Suns love.

Poole might go for 70 but is also likely to average 30 a game, which Beal did under, uh, slightly different conditions.
There is no replacing Van Gundy. No matter how well Doc/Doris mesh this will be a step backwards.

Celtics over Suns.
