Morning. Sorry I was unable to produce a newsletter Wednesday. I sat staring at a blank document for a good bit, crying and seething. There’s been a lot of crying and seething. Crying and seething that isn’t enough.
Scores
Tuesday
Warriors 109, Mavericks 119 (GSW leads 3-1) — This game was a math problem that Golden State used to have the advantage on. Everything in the box score was nearly identical: FG%, FTM, OREB, TOV. The only real difference: 43 of the Mavericks’ shots were threes, 28 of the Warriors’ shots were threes. So even though both teams made exactly 41 field goals and exactly 17 free throws, Dallas scored 10 more points thanks to shooting better from three than Golden State.
Wings 85, Sun 77 — Marina Mabrey, Arike Ogunbowale and Allisha Gray is becoming a really powerful guard-wing unit.
Fever 90, Sky 95 — Marianne Stanley is out as coach of the Fever after a 2-7 start. A little surprised they didn’t make the change in the offseason when Lin Dunn took over the front office from Tamika Catchings. Carlos Knox ascends to interim head coach.

Wednesday
Celtics 93, Heat 80 (BOS leads 3-2) — Boston led 59-58 with 2:44 left in the third. Then they went on a 24-2 run. It happens. Especially in this series. During that run, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum combined by 17 points on 7/7 shooting while Miami shot 1/13. It happens. Especially in this series. This Jaylen Brown dunk happened, too.
Say their names. Remember them.
