Here’s a painting. It’s Intervention of the Sabine Women by Jacques-Louis David (1799). This painting is said to be JLD’s plea to the French people to reunite after the bloodshed of the Revolution and the ensuing reactionary episodes. He claimed the painting was about the triumph of love over war.
