It wasn’t a total stunner to see the Minnesota Timberwolves win Game 1 against the defending champ Nuggets in Denver on Saturday. Frankly, it wasn’t a total stunner to see Anthony Edwards explode for 43 points to lead the Wolves — he’s been playing out of his mind this postseason, the Nuggets don’t have a natural defender for him, the Wolves are riding a tremendous wave of confidence and the Nuggets trailed most of their gentlemen’s sweep against the Lakers.
What was a stunner is that the Timberwolves’ best five trounced the Nuggets’ best five, which has doubled as the best five in the conference for two full seasons now.
