Nikola Jokic is (almost) perfect
Denver remains cruising alongside the Grizzlies at the top of the West.
Good morning. Let’s basketball.
The Anger of Achilles, Jacque-Louis David, 1819
Scores
Pelicans 132, Wizards 112 — Will Barton has an expiring contract, Kyle Kuzma has a player option he’s definitely going to decline, and Kristaps Porzingis has a large ($36 million) player option he might decline in favor of the security of a multi-year deal. You wonder if the Wizards are going to seriously consider moving any of them before the deadline if they don’t think they’ll pay big to retain their services. Rui Hachimura will be a restricted free agent; if Porzingis sticks around, the Wizards project to be around the tax level.
Bulls 99, Celtics 107 — Chicago cut a 12-point fourth quarter deficit to two in about two blinks and a sneeze, but a huge Al Horford three closed the deal for the Celtics.
Don’t cheat off Al Horford in the right corner. Boston still has the best record in the league.
