For a few years now, Glen Taylor has been in the process of selling the Minnesota Timberwolves and the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx to an ownership group led by e-commerce guy Marc Lore and baseball dude Alex Rodriguez. This all came about about a decade after Glen Taylor first announced he had a successor for the franchise lined up.
Early this week, a report came out saying that Lore and A-Rod were going to miss their final payment on the team because the NBA rejected one of their investors. Then a couple days later, reports indicated they had the money, and in time, and the sale would move forward. This was all full of red flags. Usually that level of drama in escrow processes doesn’t get reported out. Now we know why it did.
