Pelicans 123, Sixers 115 — Perhaps a new “worst loss of the season” for Philadelphia given that New Orleans was missing their top four frontcourt players. Zion Williamson would have been available for the Pelicans, but the team suspended him for being late to the team flight, calling it a pattern of failing to meet team standards. Whoopsie!
Bucks 109, Magic 106 — Paolo Banchero is back!
The Magic miraculously only fell to No. 4 in the East in Banchero’s absence,
Giannis Antetokounmpo with 41 and 14. He is your current NBA scoring leader while shooting 60% from the floor.
Warriors 96, Pacers 108 — Golden State is sitting at .500. Look at the current 5-year span they are wrapping: lost in play-in, championship, lost in second, lost in play-in, whatever happens this year (which is almost assuredly not a championship). So chaotic.
Thunder 126, Knicks 101 — This blowout appears to have Knicks fans and observers down bad about pretender status. Here’s what I’ll say about that: no team but the Cavaliers and maybe the Celtics should grade themselves against the regular season Thunder right now. They are on a different level. So long as no one got hurt, you survived. Onto the next. If you were, as the Knicks, to make it to the Finals and get blown out by the Thunder, that would still be a successful season.
Kings 114, Celtics 97 — THE BEAM IS SO BACK. This game was tied entering the fourth.
