Good morning. Short newsletter today. Let’s basketball.
Scores
Pacers 120, Magic 126 — Gary Harris is still putting up numbers in Orlando! 22 points on 8/9 shooting.
Nets 133, Sixers 137 — Wow, this was a fun game from tip to buzzer. The Sixers wanted this bad. That seemed to make the Nets want it. Ben Simmons may have even wanted it? He didn’t get it. In fact, Jacque Vaughn benched him for most of the fourth quarter. He was -16 in 29 minutes. The Nets were +12 in the 19 minutes he sat.
Anyway, good win for the Sixers and good effort for the Nets.
After a particularly crafty layup, Joel Embiid hit the classic DX “crotch chop” taunt.
Kevin Durant had a take.
Embiid had a longer take. I’ll just say it’s 4:49 AM as I watch as a ‘90s kid and man I am cracking up.
Wizards 108, Rockets 103 — Another big Kyle Kuzma performance for the win, but look at Alperen Sengun! 21-11-10. We like it.
Nuggets 99, Bucks 107 — A night off for Nikola Jokic. Giannis Antetokounmpo did put in work, though: 33-14-4. Monitoring Khris Middleton: a little bit better, it seems, still playing just 15 minutes off the bench.
Timberwolves 111, Pelicans 102 — Brandon Ingram came back after missing 29 straight games. He shot 4/18 from the floor. Anthony Edwards did not shoot 4/18 from the floor, though.
Hawks 137, Thunder 132 — 36 in the loss for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
