We had a good old-fashioned viral basketball moment on Friday night, one of those that is only a basketball moment because it happened at a basketball moment. The Grizzlies were in Los Angeles to face the Lakers. Retired large NFL legend and current cable T.V. Skip Bayless adversary Shannon Sharpe was talking trash to Dillon Brooks. Brooks talked back. Actually, several Memphis Grizzlies as well as Ja Morant’s forever courtside father Tee Morant talked back. Overstimulated masculine energy ensued.
As this unfolded, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin interviewed Sharpe in the tunnel during halftime.
He watched the second half from his seat without incident. (In fact, he and Tee Morant embraced before the fourth quarter.) Dillon Brooks did not get the memo that all was settled. Here’s what he said post-game.
